We are currently seeking a Project Manager-Climbing Wall Construction Expert to oversee new climbing wall projects and oversee the day to day supervision, coordination, and management of our climbing wall installations, contractors, and construction crews.

The ideal candidate must be creative, self-motivated, knowledgeable, organized, and have solid commercial construction and construction project management expertise, as well as experience with supervising construction teams.  Good communication, leadership, and organizational skills are vital. They will be involved in all phases of the project life cycle, from assisting in the design, planning, scheduling, resourcing, component manufacturing, installation, completion, and clean-up of the project site.

A Project Manager is responsible for the timely and cost-effective completion of a wide variety of Commercial, Residential, Educational, and Governmental construction projects. They serve as the primary organizational contact for all project-related activities from estimating through project closeout. Additionally they will provide quality customer service to our potential, new, and existing clients. Climbing experience and knowledge of the Outdoor Industry is preferred but not required.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Estimating and Bid Preparation: Create, update, and provide estimates to assist in the accurate quoting of projects. Work with our Sales Team to examine each project estimate in an effort to address items of concern unique to each project. Verify that quotes are accurate prior to submitting them to clients. Prepare samples of various materials, wall systems, and landing surfaces for submittal to prospective clients.
  • Design: Review all proposed design elements with Sales team and clients to ensure client wishes and expectations are addressed. Help Designer create all preliminary designs for each project through the use of various design software. Prepare project cut sheets required for prefabrication work on various wall systems.
  • Engineering: Facilitate the completion of all structural engineering for each project. Work with the Project Engineer to find new construction practices and other cost saving methods.
  • Contract Review: Review all construction project contract documents. Negotiate appropriate addendums and contract revisions when necessary. Facilitate and/or prepare all supplemental contract documents, sub-contractor packets, addendums, change orders, etc. Ensure contracts are correctly executed in a timely fashion.
  • Material and Equipment Acquisition: Estimate and order all necessary materials (steel, plywood, fasteners, hardware, etc.) and equipment required for the successful completion of construction work. Analyze previous project orders to reduce material waste and material expenses. Work with vendors to achieve the most beneficial pricing on materials and equipment. Effectively use leftover materials to reduce project expenses and shop clutter. Manage the use, care, operational expense, and distribution of all construction equipment.
  • Project Logistics: Create, coordinate, and adjust the project schedule, shipping of materials, workflow, as well as the travel arrangements for all construction employees (housing, rental cars, etc.) Select the appropriate construction employees with the proper skill sets to complete the necessary work on time.
  • Construction Process: Perform site visits to field verify measurements and identify access issues prior to the commencement of construction work. Schedule project start dates with General Contractors and Clients to coordinate with other trades working on project. Oversee the construction process by performing site visits to periodically inspect work quality and crew efficiency. Perform final inspection of construction project to ensure client expectations have been met, the quality of work meets or exceeds Nicros, Inc. standards, and correct items that fall short.
  • Personnel Management: Perform the interviewing, hiring, training, evaluation, and termination, if necessary, for all construction employees. Select the appropriate construction employees, temporary laborers, and contractors with the proper skills, expertise, and aptitude to complete the necessary work. Focus on employee retention to reduce costs associated with retraining due to turnover. Actively work to maintain employee morale inside and outside the office.
  • Product Improvement and Innovation: Strive to improve the products and construction processes to enhance client satisfaction, increase crew productivity, shorten job duration, and maximize company profits. Research new and existing materials to find the most cost effective pricing and delivery options. Work with vendors to improve current product lines (i.e. new formulas, processes, testing, etc.) and expenses.
  • Construction Safety: Implement and enforce all construction safety practices to ensure the safety of all employees working on construction projects. Find new construction methods and equipment to increase safety on jobs.
  • Client, Contractor, and Vendor Relations: Maintain clear and pleasant relationships with all clients, contractors, and vendors. Actively work to improve pricing on all products, equipment, and services. Maintain and improve the Nicros image through all interactions with clients, contractors, and vendors highlighted by quality service, professionalism, expertise, and innovation.
  • Shop and Equipment Responsibilities: Coordinate all incoming and outgoing equipment and materials associated with the commencement and completion of projects. Monitor power tool rental fleet to ensure items are in working order and ready for deployment to projects. Schedule regular maintenance of large equipment (i.e. gas arc welders) to increase longevity and performance of items.
  • Travel: Visit job sites, projects, and clients periodically. (Out of the office travel is less than 10% of employee expectations)
  • Other jobs around the office, in the shop, or on site as needed. (Less than 5% of employee expectations)

Qualifications:

  • A Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Project Management or related field from an accredited university or technical institution. (minimum Bachelor’s Degree)
  • 4 or more years of demonstrated Construction experience. (minimum 2 years of Project Management experience)
  • Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand bid documents, specifications, spreadsheets, shop drawings, and blueprints.
  • Computer competency, especially with MS Office products is required.
  • Creative, motivated, driven, professional, and visionary.
  • Familiarity with the Climbing Industry and Climbing Experience (preferred, but not required)

We are currently seeking Climbing Wall Construction Workers who are highly motivated individuals interested in the manufacturing and construction of rock climbing walls. Nicros designs, builds, and installs custom climbing walls and manufactures climbing panels and handholds for the climbing, playground, and recreational education industries. Team members will participate in all facets of the building process. They will begin with work on the steel or wood framework and continue through to the hand-sculpted cement and finish work that gives our walls their realistic look and feel.

The ideal candidate must be creative, self-motivated, knowledgeable, organized, and have solid commercial construction expertise, as well as experience with working on a construction team.  Good communication, self-leadership, and organizational skills are important. They will be involved in all phases of the project life cycle, from assisting in the planning, scheduling, resourcing, component manufacturing, installation, completion, and clean-up of the project site.

Climbing experience and knowledge of the Outdoor Industry is preferred but not required.

  • This position will require that employees travel to projects across the country for 4–8 week periods of time.

We are currently seeking a Product Tour Guide (Sales Director) for our climbing walls, handholds, landing surfaces, training products & procedures, plus the excellent services we offer to our customers. The person who meets the requirements for this position will promote and increase the sales of our products and services.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, driven, and have solid sales experience as well as experience with initiating new contacts and managing established accounts.  They will be working the entire sales and project cycle and will be expected to build long term relationships with clients through quality customer service. Climbing experience on artificial walls and knowledge of the Outdoor Recreational Industry is preferred.

Job expectations include, but are not limited to:

  • Service existing accounts, handle incoming orders, establish new accounts by planning and responding to incoming inquiries of potential customers.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of customer base and maximizing sales.
  • Manage important cross team communication by reporting activity and results through the accurate compilation and submission of reports, such as weekly call reports, sales reports, etc.
  • Enter orders and take responsibility for order entry accuracy and processing.
  • Resolve customer complaints, investigate problems, develop solutions and make recommendations to management, the design team, and manufacturing for improvement.
  • Provide input for new products, methods, procedures, and marketing approaches through market research and customer interaction.
  • Recommend appropriate changes in products, service, price, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to create new image, branding, sales strategies, marketing campaigns, digital media designs, print collateral, and product information.
  • Monitor competition, research opportunities, and gather current marketplace information on pricing, products, innovations, delivery schedules, merchandizing techniques, web presence, social media, etc.
  • Represent Nicros and Nicros products at industry tradeshows.
  • Visit clients periodically. (Out of the office travel is less than 10% of employee time expectations)

Qualifications:

  • College Degree (minimum Associate Degree preferred)
  • 2 or more years of Sales Experience or the appropriate equivalent
  • Experience with accounting software, a sales force CRM, and MS Office Products (preferred)
  • Climbing Experience (preferred)
